DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs complete set-ups to include: Programming, wire guides, loading of raw materials, adjust picker gap, carriage speed, material pressure, trimmers, wire tension, change filling tools, pickers, wire and any other general adjustments to run the machines.
  • Performs routine maintenance to include: lubrication, belt changes, changing trimmer heads, clean vacuum system, clean computer air filter, and general housekeeping.
  • Produces product at standard rates or better while maintaining specifications.
  • Maintain and update program card files and maintain spare parts cabinet.
  • Documents set-ups in logbook.
  • Fills out time sheet and labor summary daily.
  • Cuts raw material when necessary.
  • Boxes product when applicable.
  • Performs or obtains quality checks on each operational step before proceeding to the next step. Reports any quality issues to production supervisor immediately.
  • Assists in training and guidance for new department members

Know-how \ Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic shop math and understanding of metrics
  • Able to read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch and use various measuring devices such as a micrometer, analog and dial caliper
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Possess strong mechanical abilities and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn to program machines
  • Must possess good communication skills in the English language including written, verbal and listening.
  • Machine Operation experience preferred, 3+ years

Physical Characteristics Needed for Job

  • Pulling: Physical ability to exert sufficient force to draw, drag or otherwise move objects in sustained motion.
  • Pushing: Physical ability to exert sufficient force to press or otherwise move objects in a sustained motion.

Department: Automatics Coiler / piston assembly

Primary Function: Sets up / operates coil brush / strip brush / piston assembly machine to producebrushes per specifications.

Reports to: Production Supervisor

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs complete setup, change over, adjustments to include form rollers, channel coiler, retaining wire, shoe, trimmer, mandrel coiler, piston assembly machine and any other general adjustments to operate the machine.
  2. Performs routine maintenance to include lubrication, general housekeeping, etc. to maintain a safe work environment.
  3. Produces product at standard rates or better while maintaining specifications.
  4. Maintains setup, data sheet and spare parts cabinet.
  5. Documents SPC (statistical process chart) when required.
  6. Fills out time sheet and labor summary daily.
  7. Cuts raw material when necessary.
  8. Boxes product when applicable.
  9. Performs or obtains quality checks on each operational step before proceeding to the next step. Reports any quality issues to production supervisor immediately.
  10. Assists in training and guidance for new department members.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of basis shop math and understanding of metrics
  • Able to use a ruler and various measuring devices such as micrometers and dial calipers
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Report to: Production Supervisor and Team Leader

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Set-up equipment to produce product. This includes but is not limited to blades, calipers, gauges, diameter fixtures/dials, and any other adjustments to trimming equipment necessary.
  2. Set-up cutting equipment to reach overall brush length.
  3. Set-up and maintain Punch Press for fixture attachment.
  4. Pulling boxes of fixtures to keep stocked on shop floor.
  5. Measuring and checking product to make sure that quality is maintained throughout production.
  6. Perform routine maintenance to include cleaning, coolant refilling, and greasing.
  7. Deliver product to next operation.
  8. Keep area clean and organized.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Know-how

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Good math skills
  • Able to read a ruler to within 1/32”
  • Good eye to hand coordination.

Schaefer Brush is seeking a hybrid Inside/Outside Account Manager to support growth across specified markets. This role combines proactive account development with in-person customer engagement.

Approximately 25-50% travel (1-2 weeks per month) is required for customer visits, plant tours, trade shows, and distributor meetings.

The ideal candidate understands technical product sales, thrives in both relationship-driven and data-driven environments, and can represent a 100+ year manufacturing legacy with professionalism and credibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management and Growth

  • Manage and grow assigned accounts across a combination of distributor, OEM and Industrial End-User channels
  • Identify new opportunities with existing customers
  • Drive new business development with existing customers in target industries
  • Deliver product presentations and engage in technical discussions

Outside Sales

  • Serve as a Schaefer brand representative within the assigned territory, bringing product and application knowledge to customer consultations
  • Schedule and attend on-site customer visits and plant tours
  • Identify application challenges and recommend brush solutions with engineering input as appropriate
  • Represent Schaefer at trade shows and industry events

Inside Sales

  • Prepare quotes aligned with cost-plus and margin guidelines

Strategic Contribution

  • Provide feedback and report on market trends and competitive activity
